IUKL

International Union of Kettlebell Lifting

The IUKL is an international kettlebell sport federation. German athletes take part in its European and World Championships. The BVDKS report from Paris shows how individual events and team relays come together at such a championship.

For your competition, the IUKL rules and the announcement for the specific event apply.

WKSF

World Kettlebell Sport Federation

The WKSF organises international competitions and publishes rules for different disciplines and classes. Its programme includes elite, amateur and masters categories, among others; youth and inclusive sport are also among its priorities.

The categories and formats offered at a championship are listed in the respective competition announcement.

Class names, weights and scoring may differ. So don't automatically apply one federation's conditions to the other.

From idea to registration

Your path to an international competition

1. Register your interest early

Let the BVDKS know which championship and discipline you are interested in. That way, any open questions about your planned competition can be clarified in good time.

2. Check qualification & class

Compare your results with the qualification requirements and clarify the right age, weight and performance class using the competition announcement.

3. Prepare your documents

Check entry deadlines, required documents and anti-doping requirements. Allow enough time in case training or a certificate is required.

4. Coordinate registration & travel

Clarify the registration process and deadlines with the association. Then check entry fees, travel and accommodation and, if applicable, entry requirements for the host country.

Compete as an amateur or masters athlete too?

International competitions are not reserved exclusively for the highest performance class. Depending on the federation and event, amateur and age categories are also offered.

What matters are the categories actually announced and the applicable entry and qualification conditions. A particular kettlebell weight alone does not determine your age category. Have your planned classification checked before registering.
