Your start in Bremen

On 28 November 2026, Bremen hosts the 1st Bremen Kettlebell Championship: the “Open Bremen Championship 2026” in classic competitive kettlebell sport. The TS Woltmershausen von 1890 e.V. hosts the event and opens it to athletes of all experience levels – from ambitious beginners to experienced competitors. This makes it one of the key dates in the northern German kettlebell competition calendar.

Venue and time

The competition takes place in the Mehrzweckhalle Roter Sand of TS Woltmershausen von 1890 e.V., Butjadinger Straße 21, 28197 Bremen-Woltmershausen. It starts at 10:00 am and the competition day ends at around 5:00 pm. The entry fee is €20 per person. Parking is available directly at the hall, and the venue is easy to reach by public transport.

Disciplines and scoring

Athletes compete in the classic disciplines of kettlebell sport : snatch, jerk and long cycle (clean and jerk) – classically with kettlebells of 16, 24 or 32 kg. What counts is how many times the kettlebell(s) are lifted correctly within ten minutes. To ensure fair and comparable conditions for everyone, participants are divided into classes by body weight, gender and kettlebell weight – from first-time competitors to the national top class.

Organiser: the BVDKS

The Bundesverband Deutscher Kettlebell Sportler e.V. (German Kettlebell Sport Association) was founded in Hamburg in 2015 and is today the national association for kettlebell sport and fitness in Germany. It also represents the sport internationally and regularly organises championships throughout Germany. Results and protocols of past competitions can be found in the association's competition results archive .
