Around 80 participants competed at the German Championships in Berlin on 7 March 2026. The BVDKS and Berlin Kettle Bears e.V. organised a day of competition for all performance classes – from beginners to pros.

New German absolute records

In the masters category aged 55 to 64, Amrei Hellwig and Daniela Kuhn set new German absolute records in biathlon and long cycle with 12 kg kettlebells.

Silvia Hoch became the first woman in Germany to set a German absolute record in long cycle with two 24 kg kettlebells.

Torsten Baltz and Mykola Mosiichuk set new absolute records in the half marathon in the professional class with 32 kg – in the one-arm jerk and the snatch.

A broad programme and clear procedures

The programme included long cycle, snatch, jerk, biathlon and half marathon, covering different age and performance classes as well as short sets and endurance formats.

New banners behind the platforms structured the competition areas. A snack stand catered for athletes and guests. The hosting team, judges and volunteers ensured smooth proceedings and a fair, supportive atmosphere.

General meeting and thanks

The BVDKS general meeting followed in the evening. The agenda included the association's work, sports development and future competition planning.

The BVDKS would like to thank the participating clubs, all volunteers, the judging teams and the Berlin Kettle Bears for organising the championship.
