The German Championships took place in Hoppstädten-Weiersbach on 9 March 2024. Martin Müller organised the competition together with the BVDKS board and with the support of the local Dance Company e.V.
Joint set-up and opening
Many participants arrived on Friday, helped with the set-up and then met at a local pizzeria. Most stayed at the Hotel Vinicity next to the hall. The opening ceremony followed a joint breakfast.
The planned dance performance by the Dance Company had to be cancelled due to earlier water damage. Instead, Mykola and Vlad performed a synchronised juggling routine. DJ Stefan C. Maus provided the music; Arnold S. and Günther Bauch shared the hosting.
Youth, half marathon and professional class
The numerous half marathon starts demanded a great deal of concentration from the judges. Olivia Rasigraf had refreshed her knowledge beforehand.
Many young people from Stolberg qualified for international competitions with their performances. To support their participation, a fundraising campaign for the young athletes was set up.
A group from a CrossFit box delivered strong performances. Swiss athletes around Michael Antoni also secured podium places. Jewgenii Seip and Alina Heger took part as para lifters. The board was also pleased about more starts in the professional class with 32 kg.
Community and results
Support within the kettlebell community and the Dance Company's cake and drinks stand contributed to a successful day of competition.
