21 June 2023

A weekend of training and competition: on 3 June 2023, nine BVDKS members completed the fast-track coach education course. On the following Sunday, more than 40 athletes competed at the NRW Championship in Stolberg.

Nine new instructors

The participants had more than eight years of competition experience, a corresponding ranking and at least ten competition appearances. After working with the materials from national coach David Schulte, all of them passed the test.

This gave the association additional instructors for Berlin, Potsdam, Stolberg, Ratingen/Düsseldorf and Mainz.

Honours and competition on seven platforms

At the opening, President Vadim Sichwardt honoured founding member and first association president Karsten Bollert for his many years of commitment to kettlebell sport.

The competition started at 10 a.m. with children and young people, followed by biathlon and long cycle. Seven participants completed a 30-minute half marathon.

Para lifters Jewgenij Seip and Vladimir Derevyanko were joined for the second time by Alina Heger. They delivered strong performances in the one arm press; Alina completed her set standing.

Thanks to additional BVDKS kettlebells at the Stolberg site, all the required weight levels were available in the warm-up area and on the seven platforms.

Thanks and outlook

The association would like to thank all athletes and volunteers for the atmosphere, support and constructive exchange.

Best wishes then went to the German team for the WKSF World Championship in Hungary from 22 to 25 June 2023.
